Mid-Week Reads: the (Mostly) Pop-Culture Edition

What happens to our brain when we read fiction? It turns out all my reading in solitude isn't turning me anti-social after all!
Individuals who frequently read fiction seem to be better able to understand other people, empathize with them and see the world from their perspective.

I just saw this interview of Bill Watterson from 2010 and was delighted. Did I mention the Guy got me the Complete Calvin and Hobbes? Best. Gift. Ever. (Maybe not including my Kindle. Or the iPod the Guy got me the previous year. But still, pretty close.)

Complete C&H? Jealous! I've been barking at P1 to get me the set (I gave up dropping hints years ago), but no luck yet. And I don't buy it myself because I don't have a proper bookshelf. Am just waiting for an excuse to make one.

I know I can buy it myself, but then what's the fun?!

Well, I started asking for it about five years ago, then gave up a couple of years ago, then got this. So keep hinting!

Sorry, keep "barking".

Heh. Five years, huh? Alright. I'll keep trying. :D
