Mid-Week Reads

In defense of prudes (and sluts).

The always-hilarious Amrita on what Bollywood moms would say on Mother's Day.

I loved reading this account of how the way the sari is most commonly draped came to be.

Check out this slideshow on movies on motherhood. (I have to confess I haven't watched a single one yet!)

And here's a beautiful letter from a mother to her daughter.

The news that Osama bin Laden was unarmed when he was killed makes this perspective even more poignant than when I first read it a week ago.

I agree with Annie Zaidi on why people "hating politics" is sad.

Have I told you since the last time how funny Jai Arjun Singh is?

A woman writes movingly about her husband's first wife.

The inimitable Mad Momma takes on trolls.

100 rules for restaurants (and restaurant servers). I wish all servers followed #8 (and #62). I've been so annoyed when romantic dinners at fancy places have been ruined by servers thinking it's part of their job description to interrupt or make friends with me. (I already have a date. He's sitting right there.)

And #41 doesn't just apply to servers. Please, don't tell me "no problem" unless I'm apologizing to you.

And what have you been reading?

Compiling all your interesting reading is really a brilliant idea. Perfect for post-lunch surfing when there is nothing interesting on the sites one would normally read.

And the Bollywood moms link was hilarious.

Every week, Nilu. Every week.

Seems like I spend too much time reading online. Now at least the rest of you can use some of my wasted time!
